Matthews “Haunted Trail”
Oct. 27-30
Located near SummerwoodMatthews Haunted Trail
The Town of Matthews will open its “Haunted Trail” on the Four Mile Creek Greenway. The trail starts at the new Greenway Connector at the Matthews Community Center, 100 East McDowell Street and will be open from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Admission is $3 per person. The trail is recommended for individuals 10 and older who don’t mind the dark and aren’t frightened by actors. This event is not recommended for small children or toddlers.

Bush-N-Vine Fall Farm Fun
Every Saturday in October
Located near Tullamore
Bring on the pumpkins, apple cider, hayrides, and cooler weather! Bush-N-Vine Farm will have a variety of activities for you and your family/friends to participate in-bounce house for the kids, pick-your-own pumpkins, live music, food trucks, and more! Admission is FREE. Once you’ve arrived, you choose which activities you want to participate in. The hayrides to the pumpkin patch are FREE.  The bounce house is FREE. The live music is FREE. The observation bee hive is FREE. A few things (such as pick-your-own pumpkins, and food) do cost money, but the prices are very reasonable! Happy fall, y’all!

Belmont Boo Fest
Oct. 21 from 2-9 pm
Located near Conservancy at McLean
This year’s annual Boo Fest will be on October 21 at Stowe Park in Downtown Belmont! Festival attendees can expect:
  • Carnival Rides
  • Games for the Whole Family
  • Cupcake Walk
  • Hay Rides
  • Costume Contest
  • Hundreds of Vendors from all over the Carolinas!
  • And a celebrity appearance from Butch Patrick (Eddie from The Munsters)!

Lazy 5 RanchLazy 5 Ranch Fall Festival
Sept. 30 – Oct. 29
Located near Shinnville Ridge
Fall is in the air which means it is time for the Lazy 5 Ranch Fall festival! There are many enjoyable adventures to keep you busy! Take your chance at our famous pumpkin slingshot, let your children play all afternoon in the giant corn box, or watch our Percheron Draft Horses as they press sorghum cane stalks to make molasses. How high can you climb on our straw castle? Pick out your perfect family pumpkin in the pumpkin patch. And don’t forget to take a peaceful, cool, horse drawn wagon ride through the farm to feed the animals such as giraffes, zebras, bison, and much more! (Please call for reservations on the wagon ride.)
All activities are included with regular admission with the exception of the pumpkin slingshot ($1.00 per pumpkin to shoot) and fall decorations (prices vary). Lazy 5 Ranch DOES NOT accept credit cards

Trick or Treat Street at Blakeney
Sat., Oct. 28 from 1-4 pm
Located near Brentwood
This year Blakeney is kicking off “Trick or Treat Street” (formally known as Boo Bash). They teamed up with the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office and their annual Safety Day to bring you and your family a day of fun and safety awareness.
There will be vendor booths for you to browse, The HC Oakes band will have a live performance and there will be a bounce house and more!
We encourage all the kids to come out dressed in their Halloween costumes so that they can “Trick or Treat” their way through the vendors and participating tenants!
