Living in Columbia

Columbia, the capital of South Carolina, offers residents a suburban feel along with the highlights of a metropolitan area. Many Columbia residents are bonded by their love of University of South Carolina sports, heading to the Colonial Life Arena for basketball games or the Williams-Brice Stadium for football. Meanwhile, Columbia's art and music scene can be enjoyed at the Columbia Museum of Art, the Koger Center for the Arts and the Township Auditorium, as well as at many live music venues and galleries around town. Those who have kids will find plenty to do here. The South Carolina State Museum contains a planetarium, observatory and 4-D theatre, while the EdVenture Museum offers hands-on scientific and technological activities. The award-winning Riverbanks Zoo & Garden houses at least 2,000 animals and more than 4,000 species of plants.

The capital city is also a large draw for military personnel as it is the site of Fort Jackson, the largest United States Army installation for Basic Combat Training. Columbia is also located 20 miles west of the site of McEntire Joint National Guard Base, which is operated by the U.S. Air Force and is used as a training base for the 169th Fighter Wing of The South Carolina Air National Guard.

The Columbia region is the perfect place to purchase your dream home. Whether it is a ranch-style or expansive two-story design, Essex Homes has a floor plan to fit every need. The Jones Family

I like the open concept, high quality materials and appliances, and the overall curb appeal of the house. It is a beautiful house that was built exceptionally well. I was most impressed with the sales rep Michael Lewis. If it was not for his hospitality, genuine concern for my personal challenges for purchasing a house, attention to detail, willingness to help, and endless availability, I would not have chosen Essex Homes. Secondly, my interaction with the site manager Brantley Pope was just as pleasurable. He always made himself available, answered all of my questions, and quickly handled any issues that arose. I especially was impressed with his knowledge of all aspects of the building process. They make a great team. And, they made my house buying process easy and stress-free. Now, I can make this house into a home! Essex provides a phenomenal product that rates high among its competitors. However, the representatives of Essex provide impeccable customer service that surpasses their competition. These are top-notch, highly skilled, and delightful people whose personal touch to each aspect of the house buying process sells the house and builds the community! Thank you Essex staff from the Northside at Woodcreek Farms for all of your personal sacrifices, endless dedication to your clients, and belief and knowledge in your product and company. I'm home!
